friday brain

So I sat down today to write a straightforward blog post, but honestly, between eating, sleeping and being at work, I have nothing of particular interest to report just now. Instead, I'm going to try the "roundup" concept I've seen on some of the other blogs I like to read - or, as I like to put it, "the better pickings of what's been floating around my brain this week."

Firstly: the movie I am most looking forward to seeing this month. (Probably not the one you're expecting...)

A siteful of pretty pictures that I have recently discovered (although I take absolutely no responsibility for any freakishly weird stuff that you may encounter there...)

Snarky lady writes a blog ... about being a missionary. I'm really enjoying the conversation she's got going about short-term missions trips right now. Granted, I've never been on one myself, but it sounds like a touchy subject, and I do appreciate some good toe-stomping when it's called for. http://www.theveryworstmissionary.com/

If you like reading/fantasy/reading fantasy, you should check out this site! I've only read their short stories so far, but they've also got artwork and interviews with writers and fun stuff like that. This'll link you to a story about an armless piano player... http://www.fantasy-magazine.com/new/new-fiction/union-falls/

More pretty pictures...of clothes. I may have developed a mild addiction to this site over the past few months.

My new favorite time-wasting game...http://thisissand.com/

A webcomic you should read. Srysly. Adventure, romance, mad science, bags and bags of steampunkery...what's not to love? http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20070618

An essay that made me want to go out and read some Whitman. Right now. http://www.themillions.com/2011/07/embracing-the-other-i-am-or-how-walt-whitman-saved-my-life.html

That's all for now, but if I've pointed you at something you particularly like, let me know in the comments!
Thanks for reading!

    Also, this is Brad.

  2. I really like the snarky missionary. The other links are an interesting look into your ... rather eclectic personality ;-).

  3. haha. some days my brain is numb as well. why bore everyone else with my own boredom?

I love getting your comments, if only for proof that I'm not just talking to myself.

As always, feel free to say whatever you like - criticism, questions, suggestions, whatever. The best part of blogging is the conversations that come from YOU.
