Monday roundup

Good morning, friends, and happy Monday!

I write you significantly less caffeinated than usual, as I'm trying to make the switch from Enormous Mug of Coffee in the morning to Water Bottle of Iced Tea (and maybe a Small Half-Mug of Coffee to take the edge off). My nervous system is all kinds of confused and I'll probably have a fierce caffeine headache by noon if I don't modulate this right, but other than that, it's going well!

I also have a new morning workout that works (i.e. makes me sweat) without overworking (i.e. making me want to go back to bed). Full disclosure: I rarely do all of these in one morning. Maybe once or twice every two weeks. But the rest of the days, I just pick a few and go until I'm alert and slightly shiny. Here it is; feel free to borrow!

15 pushups (these go first solely because I hate doing them)
20 jumping jacks
20 high kicks
20 crunches
20 squats
20 lunges
15 situps
60 second wall sit (I have yet to make it to 60 seconds...I think the record thus far has been 30 seconds, and I was VERY proud of myself!)

Now, here are a few cool things I found lying around the internet this weekend:

Rich, Happy and Hot B-School: my favorite online life coach, Marie Forleo, has put up a series of videos as part of her online Business School, which, so far, is so much fun and so inspiring that it really doesn't feel like school at all. If you sign up, you get access to the videos, and she'll also send you the occasional email with yet more Marie TV. She's a lot of fun, and even though I'm still just on the first video (it's a half hour long - brace yourself), I have a feeling I'm going to learn a lot.

Tim Brown's TED talk about creativity and play: again, it's a half hour long, but it's also TED. You know it's worth it!

Justine Musk on learning your 'shadow': this is a very cool piece that just might change the way you approach your art/business/etc.

An internet game based on the color wheel! I like this one a lot.

Meryl Streep talks to 60 minutes. This is by no means a new segment (I think it came out in December?), but if you haven't seen it, it's pretty good. Meryl schools Morley Safer about women in Hollywood. You have to love her. I mean, really.

That's all I've got right now, and it's looking like a long, crazy day is in the offing. But thanks for reading, friends! I'll see you on Wednesday.

P.S. If you have a moment, send up a prayer (or some good karma, positive thoughts, whatever it is you do) for paige.elizabeth, who is in the air on her way to NEW YORK this very morning!

I love getting your comments, if only for proof that I'm not just talking to myself.

As always, feel free to say whatever you like - criticism, questions, suggestions, whatever. The best part of blogging is the conversations that come from YOU.
